About: Mountain King is a fantasy-themed blackletter gothic typeface that I started working on in the summer of 2023. I then resumed working on it in the summer of 2024 and finished it. The name is a reference to the orchestral piece In the Hall of the Mountain King by Edvard Grieg in the Peer Gynt Suite. The character shapes feature flat tops and sharp descenders and serifs.
